Where are you located?
132 N. Washington Street (84th St) Papillion, NE 68046 -- About 4 block south of 6th St (Cornhusker) -- Between 1st and 2nd streets, next to the Runza and City Park
Although most students enter through our back door, you can also enter through our front door. The doors are normally unlocked 30 minutes before classes start.

Where can we park?
Most students park in the back in the city parking lot after 6pm. Before 6pm, you can park on 1st or 2nd street or in front of the school. Please do not park or wait for a student in the parking lot (photograpy shop) right next to  our school as it is a separte business. Let us know if you have any questions.

What is the difference between taekwondo and other martial arts?
Karate is a 'hard' style emphasizing power. Kung Fu is a 'soft' style emphasizing flow. Taekwondo is the balance of 'hard' and 'soft' styles. It teaches power while keeping the flow. Taekwondo is also known for its high kicks, however, a student does not need to kick hight to earn a black belt.

Can a student take more than one program like hapkido and taekwondo?
Yes, current students can take additional programs for a small additional fee.

My child has ADD, ADHD, Asperger's or some other medical condition, can he/she still participate?
Yes. On the child's first visit/class he/she will be evaluated to see what, if any, modifications need to be made. Occassionally there is a student who is not ready for our classes or needs more one on one attention. Overall, we have many students with different needs taking the same classes as those students without medical conditions. We find that students learn positive behavior from each other as well as tolerance toward others.

Do you have contracts?
No. We have a monthly service agreement. It means you pay a lower monthly fee provided you pay every month including when you take vacations. Otherwise you pay our regular monthly fee just for the months you attend.

What about cancellations due to weather or illness?
A general rule for weather is if the city of papillion has declared a snow emergency, then the taekwondo school is closed. If you are not sure, look on the home page of our website or give us a call. For unexpected school closings like illness, we send out e-mails, call students, and post it on the home page of the website.

How many times a week should a student attend classes?
We recommend coming to at least two classes a week to ensure the student performs his/her best. *Our Tiny Tigers program only meets once a week.

When can a student test for the next belt?
A student has to have a minimum of 20 hours of class time in between blets to test. This usually takes about 3 months. If a student is not ready, he/she will not be allowed to test that month. This ensures that our students will be successful when it comes time to test.

How do students get patches on their uniform?
A couple, like the Korean or American flag, can be purchased to put on uniforms. We offer a variety of patches to earn. Theses include a star patches for command voice and Korean words, a splits club patch, 100% effort patch, best tester of the month patch, excellent front kick patch, excellent stances patch, a patch for academic achievement, and many more. The majority of patches are earned when an instructor observes a student in class. A few, like the korean words star patch, require a mini-test usually in class or right after class.

What equipment does a student need?
The first item to be purchased is a uniform. The second is a mouthpiece. These both should be bought within the first two weeks of joining. By yellow belt, we prefer a student to have shin scok gear and a helmet. After that, it depends on the student and his/her preferences. All equipment can be purchased through the school. Order forms are in the folders on the wall.

Are private lessons available?
Yes, we have private lessons available for current students who need a little extra help with a certain technique or who wants a review before belt testing. We do not offer private lessons as a sole means of instruction.

How does a student become a junior leader?
Junior leaders are normally chosen through observation in class. Those students who have a tendancy to help others, encourage others, and have good behavior are asked if they want to be a junior leader. If a student is not asked but is interested, we work on what is needed to help them reach their goal of junior leader.

Can I take weapons?
Any current student in good standing above the age of 8 is allowed (sharp weapns like sword and knife requrie a student to be 14 and older). Ask instructor for permission.

What is elite class?
