Our
dragons will learn the same techniques as the older students only in a
more game oriented, age appropriate format. The students will learn
focus, self-discipline, self-defense, teamwork, and preserverance. Upon completition of the Lil-Dragon Program, students will have a chance to earn the rank of a Yellow Belt 8th Gup in the Korean Martial Art of Taekwondo. Achieved student skill levels are indicated by the color of stripe on the student's belt. |
Lil-Dragons Belt System The Lil-Dragon belt system is designed to promote a child's sense of achievement and self-confidence. To help accomplish this from the start, each child in the dragon program is given a velcro belt that he/she can put on by himself/herself so he/she isn't worrying about how to tie a belt. The requirements for each dragon belt is chosen to progress the student to where he/she is ready to test for a yellow belt in taekwondo. On average, it takes about a year to complete the Lil-Dragon program. The following are the belt levels from lowest rank to highest rank: White Belt White Belt, Yellow Stripe White Belt, Green Stripe White Belt, Blue Stripe White Belt, Red Stripe White Belt, Black Stripe |
