MISSION STATEMENT

Therese's Taekwondo seeks to teach skills that help students to be productive, successful individuals not only in the Taekwondo arena but also in everyday lives. We hope to achieve this by developing important skills such as focus, self-discipline, and respect. We find these essential elements in developing high levels of self-confidence along with goal setting and attainment skills.

About Our School

Master Therese M. Guy opened her School in 1983 after being a senior black belt instructor for several years in Omaha, under another local Korean Instructor.

She has been an individual and school member of the AAU Taekwondo program and the USTU now the USA Taekwondo (USAT) organization, under the USOC - Olympic Taekwondo program since 1986.

Therese's Taekwondo is a Charter member school for Combat Hapkido under the guidance of the ICHF Founder and Grand Master of Combat Hapkido, GM Pellegrini, and recognized by the World Kido Federation of Korea and Our school has certified Instructors of Senior and Master ranks in the martial art of Combat Hapkido with the ICHF and the World Kido Federation.

In June of 2009, Master Guy, due to health problems, handed the ownership of her school over to Miss Kellie Lewis, an assistant instructor of several years. Miss Lewis is a fourth degree black belt who has competed and coached at the national level and is also a second degree black belt in martial weapons studies. Master Guy continues to teach classes and help with the transitioning of  her school.

Master Guy, her school, and our Instructors are affiliated Members with;
Grand Master Yong Chin Pak and Pak's Martial Arts Family of Iowa State University, the National Collegiate Taekwondo Association (NCTA), State Iowa Black Belt Association. The national governing body USA Taekwondo of the United States Olympic Committee, and the World Taekwondo Federation - headquarters at Kukkiwon, Republic of Korea.
